Video playback problems iPhone 3G

Hi there,
Ive had an iPhone 2G for 2 years and have just upgraded to the 32GB 3GS.
Ive put loads of video on there, all of which used to play on my 2G. Now I find that some (approx 40-50%) play OK, the others either (a) have audio and a solid green screen or (b) have audio and a frozen picture.
As I said, these videos used to play OK on my 2G handset, but no longer work on the 3GS handset - also finding this out when your train is delayed for 2.5 hours wasnt the best way of finding out
Any suggestions?

Have all the videos been properly authorized and synced...
Are the formats correct?
Try remaking one of the vids that doesnt work anymore and see if that fixes it...
Others have had issues with songs or ringtones that didnt work anymore and remaking them fixed it...the files had become corrupted...

Hi,
As I said in my post, these videos all worked on my previous iPhone. They do not need to be authorised as they are ones that I created myself. They are in the correct format for the iPhone.
All my videos have been created in the same way (using software specifically to create iPhone/iPod videos) and play OK in iTunes.
Around 60% of the videos play OK, the remaining 40% either have sound but frozen image or sound and green screen.

Problem was related to the way the videos were copied from DVD, using a different codec it worked fine. Apparently different hardware in newer phone
