Use phone as an iPod or just phone iPhone

There is no rule or requirement to have every song available in your iTunes library available on your iPod or iPhone. You can make use of playlists and smart playlists. I currently have only 880 songs taking up 4.16 GB of storage space on my iPhone. If I listened to every song once straight thru, it would take me 2.5 days - 2.5 24 hour days.
It sure is a big benefit to me not carrying around 2 devices. When a call is received while listening to music, the volume is reduced and the song is paused when answering the call, which can be done with the earbuds. When the call ends, the song begins playing where it left off along with the volume quickly increased back to where it was. Picture doing that between you iPod, iPhone, and back again. Plus having to carry around two devices. You can and will survive just fine without having every song available in your iTunes library available on the iPhone.

I prefer 1 device. Get the 32gb iPhone though if you are going to load that much music as the apps take up storage as well.
