Search funtion doesnt work iPhone 4

When i try to search for something using the search funtion on the iphone 4, nothing appears. The list is completely blank. Anyone know how to fix this?

On your phone, Settings>General>Spotlight Search>are there checks next to everything listed?

Yes everything has a tick next to it in spotlight search. I still cant search anything.

First, try resetting your phone:
Press the sleep/wake button & home button at the same time, keep pressing until you see the Apple logo, then release(ignore the slide to power off).

Alright Ive reset my phone like you said but i still have the same problem.

Mmmm...remove all the checks next to everything listed for spotlight search, then reset your phone(again), follow this by adding checks for everything listed for spotlight search. Hopefully this will fix your issue. If not, the next step would be a restore from backup.
