Scroll Sideways in Notes App iPhone

I copied and pasted an itinerary from one of the airlines into Notes for further reference. The only problem however is that even in horizontal mode, I still cant see the whole note. Ive been successful once or twice scrolling sideways but dont know why. Sometimes the app scrolls sideways and sometimes it doesnt.
Is there some rule for scrolling sideways? (iOS 4.3.1)

There is not necessarily a rule, but depending on the formatting (especially if its HTML and not plaintext) it could be in such a way where it is challenging if not impossible to navigate about the note. If possible, try to remove the formatting before pasting, use an app that is more suited for HTML notes, or just take a screen shot if it is too complex of a layout.
