Problem receiving pictures iPhone 3G

I have had the 3gs for a year without any issue until this past weekend. Whenever someone sends me a picture via a text, I get the following: Visit my mms message in the next 7 days via web at followed by the url to click on.
I have not changed ant settings and am running the 4.0 software since it was released in the summer.
Any ideas?
