Previously purchased apps on old phone iPhone

I recently had my Iphone 4 replaced at the apple store under warranty while on vacation in Florida. I did not have the phone backed up so I lost everything they could not copy. They could not copy apps so how can I find out the apps I have already purchased and paid for so I dont have to repurchase them and how do I download them because they want me to repurchase apps I have already purchase on my old iphone under its serial number.

You can download all previously purchased apps for free (even though the button still says Buy).
To get the list of apps you purchased, log in to the App Store (this is easiest from iTunes on a desktop) using the same login you used to purchase the apps and go to your account details (by clicking your username at the top left of iTunes and choosing Account). About halfway down is a Purchase History button which will list all the apps you ever bought.
You then have to download them one by one, unfortunately theres no Download all button
