Possible solution to Internet Tethering eternal spinning wheel iPhone

I managed to “solve” the spinning wheel problem for a friend’s iPhone 4. Not sure if the solution is global but can’t hurt to try this method:
1)Close all programs (double tap the centre button and manually close ALL programs)
2)Make sure 3G and Cellular data is “ON”
3)Make sure not connected to any wifi (can’t remember if wi-fi was on or not. Not even sure if this matters.
4)Now power down iPhone.
5)Wait for 3 minutes (patience is a virtue =) )
6)Power up phone and before you do anything else, check the Settings>General>Network>Internet tethering
My friend’s one had stopped. I just made double sure that it was off and it looks like the problem is fixed. No idea why this worked or whether it’ll fix the problem for good… but yeah, can’t hurt to try =)
