Phone repair iPhone 3G

My iPhone 3G was purchased on February 11th, 2010. Now, my question is is since the iPhone 3G is no longer in production, what Apple would do were my phone to break or otherwise become unusable under their AppleCare warranty? Logically, since the phone is no longer being made, neither are its components; so Id like to know since my screen is cracked.

If you bought it new it is covered by a 1 year warranty. Apple will exchange it for a refurbished if they agree that the crack was caused by a manufacturing defect. If it was accidental damage they will exchange it for a flat fee of $199.

Apple will have replacement stock for some time to come.
