Maps application crashing. iPhone 4

Well, to add to the many bugs I have found in my iPhone 4, Maps is crashing. It opens fine, and it will search fine, but it shuts down the moment I begin to travel and look around at ground level.
This phone has some wonderful positives, but there are so many bugs in this software that it takes from the enjoyment. Ive already mentioned the jerky scrolling and the occasional funky slow typing issues. I really miss my 3GS with its 3.1.3 firmware. Flawless! I placed a case on my iPhone 4 to stop the antenna issue. Are there any bandaids for this?

really these are the steps we can tell you I will say one thing my maps application does not crash no matter how I use it
to be honest these are the solutions that may or may not work..
first thing I would try is rebooting the phone by holding the sleep/wake button and home button for 15 seconds until you see the white apple logo
if that doesnt work I would restore from backup and if that doesnt work I would restore as new if all else fails take it to your closest apple store they may replace the phone for a working one..
