Hi,
Ive bought an iPhone 4 in China and I have set the system setting to English. (System > General > International > Language = English, Keyboards=English, Region Format=Canada.)
However, the build in Map App still show Chinese street name.
Also Safaris search provider box (top right corner) will redirect to Google.com.cn regardless.
Could anyone help me with the following:
1. how to make the build Map App on iPhone to match the system setup (in English).
2. how to change the search provider web site matching the system setting (in English).
Thanks in advance.

I believe that all iPhone 4s purchased in China come with a crippled maps app, hard-wired to Google Maps censored dataset for China. Same with search. This is most likely why youre seeing what youre seeing.

I guess so. However, being maps an app that cannot be removed, Apple should have ensured to have it linked with the language set in the system preferences.
Thanks,
