For me at least it was a DNS issue. The iphone was getting the routers ip on top of the dns address. I noticed the web pages hung up at the first contact when the IP address is usually looked up on the DNS. I deleted the dns numbers on the dhcp panel then looked up my DNS numbers on my router. (For a belkin, point your browser to 192.168.2.1) I typed in the DNS ip address manually in the dhcp panel and Im back online. And this is after adding in WPA security to a system previously completely open. The initial security change did nothing. The DNS manual entry fixed it all.
