Mail Days to Sync Hotmail iPhone

Hi all,
I have my Hotmail setup using Exchange Active Sync and have the Mail Days to Sync set as 3 days.
The problem is that my Mail Inbox does not remove emails past 3 days.
I still have emails from the day I started the sync (even) after a month.
Any ideas?
