Lockscreen message wont change to Sync in Progress when syncing iPhone 4

Since today, I tried to sync my iPhone 4 with iTunes 10.2 on my Mac, but my iPhone 4s lockscreen wouldnt change its message from current time & date to Sync in Progress, interestingly its still can be synced and I could unlock my iPhone but couldnt lock my iPhone again during syncing. I tried to restart both Mac and iPhone 4 but it didnt solve the problem.
Hows that happening?
What is the problem here?
