Keyboard in Landscape Lock iPhone 3G

I have an Iphone 3gs. Is there a way to lock the keyboard into landscape when texting? I have to turn my phone quite hard before the keyboard will rotate. I would LOVE to be able to just lock it in landscape mode. Please help, Im frustrated beyond belief!

You can lock the iPhone into portrait mode, not landscape mode.
