As we are all aware of updating your 3g to firmware 4.0 and 4.0.1 you just dont do it.. its been a nightmare..
Is it safe for us 3g owners to update to the new firmware 4.0.2?. Did apple bother to look after the people who cant afford to update there phones or for the people who still have 6 to 8 months left on there contract...
Or is this update there just to make sure people cant jailbrake there iPhone4s...

Its no more or less safe than the 4.0 or 4.0.1 updates.

Only if you are on 4.x would I upgrade to 4.0.2. If youre still on 3.x, WAIT. I highly doubt 4.0.2 fixed anything but the security vulnerability (which means the 3G slowness would still exist).

Read the threads on iOS4 with a 3G... youll see many, many people having problems, on this forum as well as others. Personally, Id recommend against it. My 3G works too well to chance it for very little return... folders and a few other minor features just dont do it for me.
