I connect to a network, browse for a while, and no matter what network Im using, the connection drops. FaceTime, downloads, browsing, everything halts.
Even worse, network settings stops showing the 10 available hotspots. Toggling the wifi on/off switch does not help, and I must fully turn off the iPod or reset network settings to get it working again. While it doesnt seem like a major issue, it is getting really annoying having to reset my iPod 5-10 a day. Each reset takes about a minute, and right away my iPod finds all the networks again, working fine until the next time.
I have had this problem since I got my iPod at 4.0.2 until now at 4.2.1.
I have browsed the forums and half the internet and I havent seen this problem being brought up yet, hence my first post ever.
Thanks in advance to those that take time to read this and respond.

FYI, this is the Using iPhone > Wi-Fi, 3G and Bluetooth discussions area and it sounds like you have an iPod Touch.
The potential fix for this is the same. On your iPod go to Settings > General > Reset and select Reset Network Settings. This will erase all wi-fi network settings from your iPod Touch and require re-joining every wi-fi network your iPod Touch has access to when returning within range of such a wi-fi network.
If no change after this, try restoring your iPod Touch with iTunes as a new iPod Touch or not from the backup.
If no change after this, your iPod Touch has a hardware problem with the wireless card or something else. Not sure about the warranty period for the iPod Touch, but you can call AppleCare or make an appointment at an Apple store if there is one nearby.

Yes Ive tried all those options including resetting network options and restoring the iPod. You say it must be a hardware issue but that doesnt explain why it would work perfectly 1 minute later after resetting the iPod, every single time. If theres a burnt circuit it shouldnt work at all, not just momentarily. Thanks for responding.

Youre welcome.
I said it was a hardware problem which it is, which doesnt have to be a burned circuit or a complete failure. For example, a hard drive can have a partial failure. All hard drive failures are not complete failures where the drive doesnt work at all. Your iPod Touch has a hardware problem, but believe whatever you want.
