iphone firmware update removed apps from phone

while syncing my iphone to my macbook last evening there was a firmware update
my apps are no longer on my iphone
a new (unwanted) app was added to my phone called GAME CENTER
my apps remain listed in my itunes account
the new (unwanted) app is not listed in my itunes account
please instruct me how to match up my iphone apps to my itunes account
(ive alread tried to RE-sync my iphone to my macbook and the result was the same)

Have you scrolled through ALL of the pages on your iphone? Game Center was most likely installed on a page by itself, thus pushing all of your existing apps to different pages. Look at your phone to see if this is the case. You can connect your phone to itunes and under the apps tab re-arrange your apps to your liking. The Game Center app cannot be deleted, so if you dont want to look at it move it to the last page or put it in a folder.

Hello,
This happened to me twice during the update from 4.0 to 4.0.1 and then from 4.0.1 to 4.0.2. Unfortunately, you will have to install the applications via iTunes by re-ticking them from the Applications selection pane.
