iPhone Dock Connector Broken 3G

My dock connector on my iPhone stopped working today. I cant charge my phone so pretty soon its going to be a useless iBrick if I dont do something to fix it. Does this mean I have to take it in to AT&T and ask them to repair it? I just got it.

You will be able to get a free replacement from Apple since you just got it and your warranty is good. Go to your local Apple Store to get it replaced. http://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar/

Rubbish !!! the same thing happened to my 32gb iphone 3gs just 3 months after owning it and I bought apple care. was told by apple it is physical damage. They did not care if it was covered by warranty or not. They offered to replace it with a refurbished handset in exchange for me giving up the remainder of my warranty which was over one and half years. How is that fair? common apple I WAS a loyal customer.
