iPhone 4 Roaming-No service

Hello,
I have weird problem with my iPhone 4 running 4.3.1 (latest as of march 29th).
The IPhone 4 is factory unlock from Apple. Purchased on apple.ca in Canada and registered with local telco Telus Mobility.

iPhone works great on Telus network (HSPA I believe) in Canada and in USA (cant remember which network)howerver in Germany and India, the phone cannot connect to the network (No network)According to Telus all international roaming options are set correctly.I can see the service providers, under Carrier, but cannot connect to any of them. Automatic does not work either... I get connection lost pop up.Try to set phone to 2G only... same problemTry to reset network settings... same problemTry to reboot phone... same problem
as a temporary fix, I tried to get a Prepaid card as this phone used microSim... none of the providers have prepaid microsim... microSim is only available for regular subscriber!
anyone has recommendations, solutions? this is very annoying!
