iPhone 3GS OS 4.3.1 Search triggers unusual traffic CAPTCHA from Google

Since upgrading to 4.3.0 (and now 4.3.1) when ever I search Safari flickers like it is repeatedly sending the search request. This triggers the improper use detection @ Google.
Tried with both WiFi and 3G with the same result. My friends android phone has no problems using the same Wi-Fi connection so I am pretty sure it is no problem with the router or other devices on the Wi-Fi network.
I also notice the screen doesnt seem so smooth scrolling since the upgrade and I often fail to connect to the network when dialing for the first time after a while.
Does anyone else have these issues and is it just me or is 4.3.1 a bit buggy on the 3GS?
I have reset the phone and restored the phone. It makes no difference.
