IPhone 3G Repair Length.

Hello. I was just wondering if anyone else had extremely long repair times for their Iphone 3g or any other Iphone. I was under the impression its a pretty fast turnaround.
Posted it away on the 10th of august and by the records it arrived in the service centre on the 14th of august. On the 24 of august I emailed them asking for an update and they said repair would take another 5-7 days. During all this time, online status remained on In Transit.
So its 16th september now, and no sign of the phone coming back. Surely it doesnt take over a month to repair a phone. Anyone else have the same problems with the repair service?
There was no offer of a temporary replacement phone for the repair either. Phone is under warranty. Luckily I have another older phone im using in the meantime.
