Hi,
I do not know whether I am right here. The silent/ringer switch on my iPhone 3G broke after 6 weeks (bought the phone in october 2008).
Apple Care Hotline told me that I cannot get my phone repaired in Germany (I am located in Germany) since I bought my phone in italy. And I should bring it back to Italy to have it repaired (probably by the same repair center).
I am some what confused as I bought an Apple product in the EU with a company (Apple) that is represented in every nation of the EU.
Any Ideas how to tackle that?

If you live in Germany, why did you purchase an iPhone in Italy?
Did you purchase an unlocked iPhone in Italy that was officially unlocked by the carrier there?
If so, Apple sells carrier locked iPhones in Germany only.
A warranty claim is honored in the country where the iPhone was purchased only.

You are confusing EU with USA...
each country in eu has its own policy-so if you bought your iphone in italy and need to repair-fix-change it,you can do that only in italy by providing an italian address.
Which carrier did you buy from-tim or vodafone?
