iBooks crashes with no error message after IOS 4.2 upgrade iPhone

Hi,
Im hoping someone might have the same issue. I just upgraded my iPhone 3G from 4.1 to 4.2.
The problem Im noticing is that iBooks will not start and briefly shows an empty bookshelf and then terminates without any error messages.
I noticed that there is an update in the app store for iBooks but when I try to apply it it also fails with no error message.
Any ideas?

Try deleting iBooks and then reinstalling it. There is probably some corruption in its data which is causing the problem. You can re-sync any books, etc. that you have in iBooks.

Deleting the app and then reinstalling it worked great. Thanks for the tip.
