I have been a blackberry user forever and decided to switch to the IPhone. Since I am a novice, I have a question. Have any of you run across a calendar application that actually shows your appointments on the screen so you dont have to search through the calendar. Blackberry has a type program where all your appointments are listed on the screen whenever you hit the home key.

I think you want the list view:
Tap Calendar.
Tap List (left of center, on the bottom)
There you go.
