I cant redeem whatsapp gift card iPhone 4

Reply Topic A friend sent me whatapp as a gift, i received the gift card at my Email but i cannot redeem it. it keeps asking me for the gift card code but there is no code at all on the gift card i received. it is refusing to install the whatsapp application until i enter the code but i didnt get any code.
it requested to download the latest itunes 10.2 so i did. but still not working keep asking for the gift card code.
please help me to solve this issue.
