I have only had this phone for a few days and still learning to drive it, i would like to copy my songs i have bought from Itunes onto my Iphone is this possible

If they are in itunes, then sync them to the iphone.
http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/iPhone_User_Guide.pdf
Go to the music tab and select whatever you like to sync with the iphone.

thankyou for that i now have them on the ipod section but would love to add some as ringtones is that possible

You have to create ringtones. There are several free ways to do this.
