Hi all,
I have a strange question, so let me explain the reason. about a week ago I dropped my old laptop down the stairs and the hard drive died. before this I used to sync all my photos to my iPhone, and now that the laptop has died, the only copy of the pictures I have are on my iPhone. So my question is this: Can I get the pictures from my photo albums on iPhone back to my shiny new laptop?

You can, but bear in mind that these photos, that were synced to your phone, were reduced in resolution for display on your phone. There is no way to recover their full resolution unless you regularly backup your computer, which is apparently not the case. Since Apple makes no provision to do this, youll have to use third-party software to extract the photos from your phone:
