Disable Google search history in Safari iPhone

Is there a way in Safari on a 3GS to disable storing search history? Every time I select the search box, I am presented with a list of several weeks worth of searches. I know I can clear the history if you access Settings-->Safari-->Clear History but I dont want to do that continually.

hi smugcloud the only thing i can find is in the google browser, when you go to the settings scroll down to searchable items,tap on that & youll see previous searches, just switch that off. hope this helps.lori
