deleted photos Iphone 4

I had an Iphone 4 from Sep to Dec and it had to be replaced.
I backed up my Iphone 4 on 29 dec 2010 and recieved my new phone on the 31 Dec 2010.
With the new phone i took 200 photos of our new years celebrations.
on the 3 of Jan i plugged my phone into my computer and it sync and updates the phone software.
I lost all the 200 new years eve photos.
How can i get them back?
i never backup the new phone i assumed when it sync it would copy the photos across to the computer but it did not.
Anyone can help?

Photos/videos in the Camera Roll can and should be imported by your computer as with any other digital camera. iTunes does not handle the import of photos/videos from any digital camera including from the iPhones Camera Roll. Photos/videos in the Camera Roll are included with the iPhones backup which is updated by iTunes as the first step during the iTunes sync process but so a significant amount of other data, so depending on the iPhones backup alone for this data is not a good idea.
When connecting a new iPhone to iTunes on a computer used for syncing a previous iPhone, you are prompted to transfer the backup for the previous iPhone to the new iPhone. This replaces any photos/videos in the Camera Roll on the new iPhone with the photos/videos that were in the Camera Roll on the previous iPhone and included with the previous iPhones backup. Connecting a new or replacement iPhone to iTunes to transfer the backup for a previous iPhone should be done right away - the very first thing.
