Continually asks for voice mail password iPhone 3G

My wife does not know her password. She has checked voicemail without it. Now the prompt is continually coming up. We cannot reset the password without the password. How can we make this stop and return to where she just listened to her voicemails? thanks

Are you in the US? If so, press & hold the 1 key on the keypad & follow the prompts to reset the voicemail password or dial 611 from your phone & have an AT&T rep reset it for you.

If you are in the U.S., you need to contact AT&T to have the password reset and to request no password be required to access voicemail, which I wasnt aware was even possible. Ive always used a password to access voicemail with every carrier Ive used which I assumed was required. This included when having to call to listen to voicemail the old fashioned way and which continued with the iPhones visual voicemail feature. If I call from my iPhone to listen to voicemail the old fashioned way, I must enter my voicemail password.
