Connecting an Apple Bluetooth keyboard to iPhone 4

Is there a method for the iPhone 4 to connect to an Apple Bluetooth keyboard? The phone is running iOS 4.3.1. The General Settings > Bluetooth (On) > Devices continues to search without discovering the keyboard.
I apologise if this is a common question and has been answered in the Discussion Forum, but I could not find tue answer in the search.

What model Apple wireless keyboard? The original Apple Wireless Keyboard, introduced in 2003 is not compatible.

Thanks for the reply. The keyboard is the aluminium (2009) A1314 model.

Is the keyboard in pairing mode? Hold the on off switch on until it starts to quickly blink or flash. Make sure the keyboard is not paired with any other Apple device, such as another Apple computer or it will not pair with your phone.
