Compass built-in app longitude incorrect. iPhone 3G

The longitude value shown in the built-in Compass application is incorrect if the iPhone is between 0 and 1 degree West of the Greenwich Meridian. It is shown as East.

Its been wrong for a few years now and countless people have written to Apple about it.
They dont seem to care
