cleaning dock connector iPhone 3G

Hi all
Had my iPhone a few months now but there is quite a collection of debris building up in the dock connector Ive blown it gently but its not made much difference....so what the best way to clean it out properly?

You could get a can of compressed air and blow it out (dont tip the can upside down or it will shoot out the freezing liquid). If there is anything that wont come off with the air, take a brush with gentle bristles and brush it off then shoot it with the compressed air again.
