Are text messages free using A app iPhone

Quoted from the FAQs:
AOL does not charge a fee to send text messages using AIM. Text messages are treated the same as normal IM messages and are included as part of your devices data plan.

So, I pay $0.25 per text message. I guess using AIM is not a very good idea then.

If you use Yahoo IM app, you dont get charged for text messages when you text with someone else using that same app. Wonder why that one is different?

What? It doesnt say that at all...read it again. Normal SMSs are charged against your text plan, if you use AIM youre using your data plan.

Theres a difference between a data plan and text message plan, and since AIM uses you data plan, then obviously text messages sent via AIM wont count toward your Text plan.
